In Winter 2022, a small group of volunteers met up with a shared interest in setting up an association of retired personnel. With the support of NIAS, the group held two events in 2023 to find out if others would be interested and to explore what an association might achieve. Attendees at the events were also given to the opportunity to form an association planning group and to volunteer to be considered for the first ever NIAS Association of Retired Personnel committee/trustees. The group is now ready for the Annual luncheon and general meeting and hope to see you there. At the event you can vote for association trustees/committee members and sign up to be a member of the newly formed association.

- Catch ups and ideas for an association being shared at the Coleraine gathering.
- Guest speaker James Kennedy NAS Association of Retired Ambulance Personnel at the Craigavon information event giving attendees ideas for a NIAS Association.
- Volunteers meet at NIAS with Director of HR Michell Lemon to plan the first Annual Luncheon and General Meeting. Taking place in Tullyglass Hotel Ballymena at 1pm on Wednesday 21 February. Hope to see you there!
