Maxine Paterson – Interim Chief Executive

Maxine Paterson was appointed Interim Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service in April 2025, having previously been appointed NIAS Deputy Chief Executive in March 2023.

Maxine joined NIAS in April 2020 in the role of Director of Planning, Performance and Corporate Services.

Her introduction to Health and Social Care was through the Business Services Organisation in 2013.Prior to joining NIAS she had held the post of Head of HSCNI, HR and Finance Shared Services since 2016.

Maxine’s early career began in the private sector where she held a number of operational management positions within the shipping and logistics industry.

She holds a Degree in Business Management and a Postgrad Diploma in Contact Centre Management.
