Management & Support Services

Management and Support services functions vary across the Trust and are also a key part of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service team. This group of staff have clear career opportunities with associated training and development, in areas such as Finance, Human Resources, Fleet Management, Risk Management, Information and Communications Technology and General Administration.

Entry Requirements

Relevant academic or professional qualifications will depend upon the area of work.

Training
The relevant training will be dependent upon the area of work.

Finance
Finance employees working for NIAS can have wide-ranging and varied functional responsibilities including accounting, invoice processing, purchasing and supplies etc with career paths in each area.

In many of the finance functions, staff are professionally trained and experienced.

Human Resources
The Human Resource functions across the Trust support all areas of the service in relation to recruitment and employee resourcing, training and development and employee relations, equality and diversity.

All staff are specifically trained in Human Resource functions together with professionally qualified staff.

Fleet Management
Fleet Management encompasses a range of support functions including design specification, acqusition maintenance and repair of vehicles.
The staff within this area are trained in Fleet management.

Risk Management
The Risk Management support function provides clear advice and guidance to the ambulance service in relation to all areas of risk management.

This group of staff is professionally trained in the above areas.

Information Technology
The Information Technology function supports the design, implementation and maintenance of the ICT systems (voice, data and radio) operating in all areas of the Trust’s business and operational activities.

General Administration
The General Administration support service have a variety of roles within the Trust ranging from corporate, reception functions and include the provision of PA roles, administrative and secretarial support within each of the above functions.
