Our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) is made up of specially trained Northern Ireland Ambulance Service staff who can respond to serious incidents. These incidents can range from involving hazardous materials to train crashes, to significant fires.
HART work in the ‘hot-zone’ of major incidents alongside the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS). Their job is to triage and treat casualties, as well as look after other emergency services personnel who become injured in the course of their duty attending the incident.
Due to the range of incidents that HART could be called to, they have a wide range of equipment available to provide appropriate care.
