Congratulations to EMT Darren Leonard and Paramedic Patrick Donaghey, who were proudly presented with the Derry Journal Bravery Award on Thursday 21 May.

Darren and Patrick were recognised for their exceptional courage and professionalism after responding to a serious stabbing incident. Through their calm and decisive actions, they successfully saved the patient’s life while also ensuring the safety of the patient’s wife and son.

Their actions reflect the very best of the NIAS, demonstrating compassion for their patients and dedication to their role within our communities. We extend a huge congratulations to Darren and Patrick on this well-deserved honour.
